Default Console swap-What years are compatible??

Looking to swap my center seat/console out for a standard console but not sure what year(s) will fit. See plenty on Ebay from older F-150's and they look just like the ones in the newer models, so is there a year cutoff??

Oh yeah. 2004 - 2008 (probably 2009) are compatible with each other. They bolt to the floor pan through the bottom of the console.

2010 - 2012 are compatible with each other. They bolt to a frame that is left behind when the jump seat is removed. They bolt through the side.

I tried to install an 04 - 08 console in my 11, and it would have required pretty heavy modification to fit. So I sold it (to a member here I believe) and waited until I could find an 11 on ebay. Much easier to install.

2009 and up are all the same. Ford brought out the re-designed f150 in 2009 so anything 2008 and earlier won't work.

Thanks, just what I needed. According to the seller the 2009 is for '09 and up. Any way to identify compatibility from pics?

You know...I thought the same thing. However, I remember people on this forum talking about how the 2009 and 2010 jump seat mounts change from bolting to the floor to the frame setup. Go figure. If I had a 2009 model I would pull my jump seat first just to see how it is installed before I purchased anything.

Oh..and you *can* make the older console fit the newer truck, it is just a total pain in the butt!

Sure...the new consoles have bolt holes in the side. As long as your jump seat bolts to a frame with four bolts through the side you are good to go.

Here is the frame in my 11. If the 09 and up are compatible, your 11 will have the same (similar) frame.

Here is a pic of the 04 - 08 console that didn't work in my 11. Notice, no holes in the side. Search for an 10 - 11 console on ebay to see the holes in question.

Thanks for the pics, huge help. Sure enough, the 09 has the holes on the side.
