Default Confused

I bought a 2014 F-150 XLT from a seedy dealer in NC. It didn't have a license plate light...I found an open plug/connector underneath the bed. Can anyone tell me what plugs into this connector? (pictures) Is this where a harness connects for the plate lights? The truck supposedly passed inspection with out the plate lights. Sorry about the duplicate photos. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Easy fix, might want to clean the socket with electrical cleaner.
