Default Condenser Replacement

Condenser took a rock hit on the way home Friday. Truck is at the dealer today. They quoted me 665 to replace. The part is only 185, so the balance is labor and Freon.

665--seem reasonable? I went ahead and told them to do the work.

The rock hit was very small--about the size of a pea--very hard to see. It's frustrating that the condenser can't take more of a hit than that. I could get it done for less elsewhere, but even if I saved 50%, I prefer to have Ford do the work--especially since it's covered for 2 years.

That's what it cost in my Hyundai sedan. I now add a shield (wire mesh) behind the grille on all my vehicles to help prevent this stupid thing.
