Default Comp Cams Phaser Limiter

Has anyone installed these?
My new to me 2010 Lariat has a tick, but faint right now, and thinking of doing this install. Ive read a few posts, and although it says it eliminates the tick, Ive also read that it drops mpg, and some power over 2500 RPM. Is this with or without the tune Comp Cams instructs you to do. ANy and all info appreciated. I'd like to know what to expect before putting in the time and money to do this.

You will lose some mileage and power because a cam phaser restricts the overall movement of the cam. Thus the cam cannot be retarded or advanced as much and some power is lost and fuel economy. However for some 5.4's it seems the best solution for the issue.

Can that be overcome with a custom tune?

A good custom tune could restore most of the power and maybe even add some in other places. I would consult with someone like 5 star that probably has a lot of experience with this.
