Default cold air intakes

Hey guys. I have an 09 fx4 and am looking for a CAI. I had an oiled one on my last truck and it messed with the mass air flow censor. Just wondering from you who have CAI's if you have had that problem with your Fords or not or if I should just get a dry filtered one.

Spend the extra money on a dry filter. Less hassle to maintain and u won't run into oil problems.

I have a Volant dry intake on my 09 and it works great. Recently took it off for some warranty work to be done and my gas mileage lowered and it was definitely down on power. I have had it on the truck for 3.5 years now and only had to clean it a couple of times. Just wiped it off and good to go.

Is the air raid an oiled filter or dry?

Good Lord, save your money. If you do a search, you will find that CAI has been debated dozens of times, with the same result....no conclusive evidence of any performance improvement. Keep it stock, and keep clean, paper filters in it.

My air filter is dry, I also did not want to deal with the hassle of oiling.

Got a K&N one and it made my 5.4 a monster. Right around 3000rpm it pulls harder than it did before. Easy to install. And sounds good at high rpm, you can hear the air it's sucking in. Although I do have straight pipe exhaust so I can't say how much louder it is.
