You can do a search and do some reading if you want. But from what I've read the consensus is that they aren't worth the money. They add a little bit of power but mainly just noise and they look cool under the hood.

Yea, I blew 300 and sum on a Volant. What a waste that was. The side of the airbox had a hole in it (actually a 2" wide slit) that ran the full length of the airbox on the fender side, then around the front. Hardly a sealed system. Yea, it was a lot louder, but after a month I yanked it. I left the intake tube because it was nice, but I put the stock airbox back in. No performance gain that I could tell with the Volant, and my gas mileage actually dropped.

Search the forum. You already have one, it comes that way. All you're adding is noise.

I added the JLT CAI because it fits up to the Boss intake manifold, but outside of that I would spend your money elsewhere, unless you are just trying to dress the engine bay up.

I wanted the noise but didn't want to drop the money on a CAI. I replaced the factory intake tube with silicone tubing. It removed the factory resonators which dull down the sound but still uses the factory air filter and housing. It took some work to size and route the tubing and to make sure the breather lines were all hooked up and sealed, but it ended up being less expensive than an entire CAI kit for the same result.

It seems not worth the cost. Tuning or headers are your best ways to pick up any noticeable power gains. Unless of course your running a BOSS or FR manifold with all the other supporting mods then maybe it's worth it.
