Default Cold air intake/ map sensor

I have a 2010 f150 5.4 triton and was thinking about getting a cold air intake. My question is will the factory map sensor be ok with that or will I need to upgrade it as well?

You don't have a MAP sensor. You do, however, have a MAF sensor.

OEM, air intake system .....
.
  • already CAI.
    • air intake from LH (driver) wheel well behind the inner fender shield.
    • air box has a lid. MEANING: It's not a HAI (HotAirIntake) allowing heated engine bay air.
    • is made-of plastic. MEANING: Less heat-soak.
    • IAT reading is nearly same as an aftermarket.
    .
  • OEM, Motorcraft air filters ...
    • meets|exceeds engine air intake CFM requirements. *UNLESS über engine modifications are done. e.g. cylinder head and/or cams.
    • good for 30,000+ miles. *Depending upon conditions.
    • ABSOLUTELY NO possibility of MAF sensor oil contamination.
    • dispose and replace maintenance.

So you are saying don’t bother buying a new intake system? Won’t notice a difference

Dozens, if not hundreds of posts explain how the factory system is a CAI...

You will get a noiser system if change from factory, and if the filter is oiled more issues.

If you opt to do it ... Do it for the cosmetics and/or sound. Do it for any other reason and you're wasting $$$ - there little to no performance or MPG gain.

If it's performance you're looking for ... Get a tune.
