Coilover leaving kit ride ????
I'm making a pole of if you had a rough ride with coilovers. Or if it was better then stock.
I'm torn right now on what way I want to go with my truck. Icon coilovers, upper control arm, raptor rear shocks and block, stock wheels with 305's and 1.5" spacers. Or 4" lift with bilstein 5100 front, fox 2.0 rears, and 20x9 or 20x10 with 35's.
The problem I have with the coilover set up is all the treads on how rough the ride was after install and some people ended up going to a 4"-6" lift after the fact. So if you have or had a coilover set up give me your experience on how you like it on road/ off road. If you would do the same over again or just do a lift the first go around .

BOSS coils. Love 'em. Firmer than stock but better than stock. Set to give me 2" of ride height increase.
A lift does keep driveline angles very close to stock. Just depends on your wants. Buy once, cry once.

Another plug for BOSS coilovers here... The ride is much improved IMO - less body roll, firmer, but more controlled. Rides like a truck is supposed to - the stock ride is too mushy and too much body roll. Get the BOSS rears too...
I had Bisteins on my previous 2010 FX4 and the ride was similar to what I have with the BOSS coilovers...

ride got better, no question. it was more firm, but ignored more of the defects in the road. Then I ruined the ride with E-rated tires. With the BOSS coilovers and hellwig swaybars, the truck was epic feeling. The truck looks better with the meaty tires, and especially so with the spacers, but you will degrade ride quality with them.
If I was to do it over again with what I know now, I would have just spent the money and gone with a mid travel kit running Icon 3.0 front and rear, raptor LCA, Icon UCA, and some new fenders and front bumper. But I didnt know I'd want to go more offroad then. If I was to rebuy for what I had originally intended, I'd have done everything the same, except a less stiff tire. the BOSS gear works great.

I answered "Rougher than stock" regarding my coilovers. Why? Because it's just the way I like it. I hate "mushy" riding trucks. I changed to Bilstein 5100s right after I bought the truck in '13. I just swapped out for the BOSS coilovers. What an awesome expenditure of cash! The Bilsteins made my FX4 feel like I was driving a motorhome. Love the BOSS!
Want mushy? Get the Bilsteins. Want "performance firm" (not "rough")? Get the BOSS. Want to spend some serious cash (for not much more performance gains)? Get the Icons.
BTW, your truck came with coilovers from the factory. FWIW.

If you aren't in a hurry I can post my experience of almost every single mod you want to do.
I already have the parts just need time to install them.
*Boss Coilovers
*Boss Rear Shocks
*2-3" Rear Blocks(depends how the front sits)
*Icon Uni-Ball UCAs
*Bora 1.5" Wheel Spacers(Hoping them come in today, bought them weeks ago and still havnt seen them. Bora said they had issues with the powder coater or something)
Only thing I don't have is 305/55R20(33.21X12.0"). Once my 275/60R20(32.99X10.83") Terra Grapplers need replacing i will be going with a 305/55R20 Toyo M/T
The list of mods above will be replacing a 2.5" ReadyLIFT Leveling Kit, 1.25" 2013 4X4 Rear Blocks, & 2013 OEM 4X4 Rear Shocks on my 2013 FX2.
