Default Coastaltech lockpick questions

Has anyone used the lockpick on their 09s or2010s with hard drive based nav?
I just installed and I am having navigation problems and I called their customer service and I dealt with 2 people who were RUDE and not ANY help at all! I'm very frustrated because my navi is not working right at all . I should of read others complaints before I bought this products all I keep finding online is people complaining about this product and about their customer service! Not a happy camper right about now.

It's my understanding that in order to enable the DVD and other 'disabled' functions, the Lockpick disables the GPS unit.

I have it installed on my 09 and it does hose up your nav when you enable the lockpick to watch a movie or input an address. You simply disable the lockpick if you want the nav to work again. For example if you want to input an destination address while driving just enable it, input the address, disable the lockpick, and the nav will then do it's thing.

If you are using your nav and want to watch a movie you will need to pause the movie, disable the lockpick, let the nav update, and then re-enable the lockpick to continue watching the movie.

I undestand all of that but my issue is. When the lockpick is not working the no gps icon comes on. And navi is all screwed. And when the lockpick is on the no gps icon goes off but navi doesn't work? It's either a connection issue which I have no idea how you can mess that up it's so simple and straight forward or I'm thinking maybe Theres a firmware update it needs for the sync v2.1 update? Not sure what to think I just know that customer service was aweful! I told them I couldn't view the video on their website for the install and they told me to "find a library" and when I explained the problem to them I asked of it is possible that a faulty unit exists ad they told me " no that's not possible either it works or it doest". ??? WTF does that mean? I'm really upset because I like the lockpick it's very easy to use. That also told me " well if it's just the navi that doesn't work then unplug the navi and just use the lockpick for DVD" .. WhAt? I got it to be able to use navi while I'm driving. The DVD is a bonus but I would not of paid for this if it was only for the DVD I am just upset becaue it's a brand new 2010 Harley I just got 2 weeks ago and my navi is screwed! Agh! So upset.

That's a bummer. I don't think it's a sync issue as I had sync 2.0 when I installed my lockpick and I upgraded to 2.1 a couple days ago and the lock pick still works ok. I would try to reset the lockpick with the dip switches to get the truck back to factory setup (check lockpick instructions) and then try again where you boot the lockpick like the first time. If that does not work I would try to send it back for a replacement unit. Good luck!

I watched the install video of the lockpick but it doesn't show where the unit is stored after everything is plugged up. Does the unit sit behind your NAV display?
How do you turn the unit on/off? Do you use the NAV screen or buttons on the wheel?

There is a video also of how to use the lockpick, you use the steering wheel buttons for turning on the address input function and the radio on/off button for the DVD control. I placed my lockpick unit on the cab floor passenger side below the nav unit behind the side panel tie wrapped to a cable harness. The cable is long enough to do this and you can get access to it easy if you need to.
