Clunks When Downshifting
My 2009 F150 has developed a clunk when it shifts down from 2nd to 1st gear (it’s an automatic). It’s most prevalent as you slow down for a stop sign or a light. When I first bought the truck, the 1st to 2nd gear up shift was kind of abrupt, and the technicians performed a software update that appeared to lessenthis. Does anyone have any ideas what the clunk might be attributable to? I am hoping it’s not too serious (I have 77,000 KMs /46,200 miles on the truck).
I look forward to all replies.

Might just be the drive shaft clunking forward. If it's out of warranty there's a write up around here somewhere on how to re-lube it with marine grease so it'll never happen again. I had mine done. It'll clunk forward when stopping and depending on how fast you take off it'll do it again. Forward is much less noticeable.
Hopefully your problem cause it's an easy fix. Transmission not so much.
