Default Chilly Morning!

Only -31C, but the 'ol Eco wasn't too happy to start this morning.

Plugged in over night, remote start crank for 5 seconds and life! Along with a nice cloud of smoke!

Winter will be over soon... right?

Being from AZ, Ill admit I had to use a calculator to figure this out,

-31°C = -23.8°F

was -32C when i woke up this morning so may have been colder over night. I made the mistake of not starting my truck yesterday at all again in the -30C range. The 5.4 wouldn't start this morning as I can't park close enough to power to plug it in. Had to get a boost. Never had that issue with my '96 ever even when it was colder. Lesson learned this time.

I'm surprised - I have a '13 EB and it has sat for two days in balmy Edmonton (-30...-41 windchill) and she fired up easy-peasy.

Yeah, I had mine plugged in at -20F outside and wasn't even sure what it did for me as it sure cranked hard and took FOREVER to heat up!

I just bought the truck in August and I'm not sure how old the battery is. If it is still the original it could be at the point of needing replaced. All Canadians know the importance of a good battery. I had just put a new one in my '96 last winter. I'll probably replace this one before next winter and just make sure I start it if it gets this cold again. supposed to warm up by Wednesday.
