Question Changing my oil...

Hey guys, I searched on the forum but couldn't find the answer i'm looking for... I will be changing my oil, myself, for the first time since i've owned my truck. Looking at the Bosch oil filter, any thoughts? Seems like its either Bosch or Fram. Thoughts or suggestions on a better filter? K&N?

This.

You can also pick up a Motorcraft filter from Wal-Mart as well as oil (5w30 penzoil ultra) and should have zero issues going to 5k oil changes. Wouldn't go past that on the EB.

Filters I personally avoid for oil:
K&N
Bosch
Fram

Filters I personally use:
Wix
FoMoCo(Motercraft)
Purolator
Napa Gold(wix)

Oils I personally use:
Penzoil Ultra
Mobil 1
Amsoil XL

Motorcraft. reasonably priced, readily available, and recommended.

I did buy a couple of BOSCH distance plus ones for my ranger, though. (pricey)

I use Mobil 1 because I can get it at Costco cheap the dealer sells the filters at a price that competes with all. Eco is easy to change oil, in fact I find it easier than my 11 5.0. Love to hate this truck. 4th Ford each one either on back on TSB or issues so I'm changing next truck, lost faith after 4 that they can get things right the first time. BTW I have owned 1985 to present and currently own a Nissan (12 Altima) none have put me through the pain of the last 4 Fords for what it's worth.

I know we spend a lot for trucks today, but there is no need to waste more money on these fancy high priced products. Keep it simple, Put original OEM oil/filter and never have to worry about the truck. Remember Motorcraft is what they used to stress/test the engines. That's my 2 cents!
