Default changing interior.colors

Over the weekend I traded my center jumpseat for a console. Didn't take a close look at the console as the gentleman I traded with loaded it into my truck and I put the jumpseat into his. On the way home I started looking at it and realized that it doesn't match my interior. The armrest is more of a tan color while I have a light gray, and the plastic looks like a dark brown while all my plastic is black. I think I'm going to use plastidip or duplicolor spray bedliner on the plastic but which one to use? Would vinyl dye work on the armrest to permanently change the color or would I be better off just having it recovered ($?) or buying one the correct color on ebay ($80ish)

Did you get a kodiak brown/tan console? The kodiak brown in my truck looks black unless your looking closely. I'm currently working out a swap with someone for my jump seat and his console, if it falls through,I'd be interested in taking it off your hands if that's what the colors are? Any pics?

I'm pretty sure that's what I ended up with. The brown is very dark. I'll probably keep the one I have and make it work. I might have to spend 80 or 100 bucks but that's a lot better than 350-450 on a new console

Well good luck then. I'd get the kid recovered instead if trying to dye it then

That's what I'm thinking. I have a friend that does auto upholstery for a living. I'm sure it would be a simple job for him

id get the arm rest covered in vinyl or leather, and then you can plastidip the plastic since its not really a high traffic piece. If you want to go the extra mile, use SEM paint on the plastic console for better results

I'd unload that thing and get the correct console.

Ended up pulling the console apart and painting it flat black with duplicolor vinyl and carpet paint. Even painted the armrest black. Gonna see how the armrest holds up and if it starts flaking or rubbing off I'll just buy one on eBay. Put it in and it looks alot better black than brown and tan
