Default Changing gear ratio

Ok before y'all say anything about the search function I tried and a bunch of random stuff came up so here goes. My 2010 XLT 4x4 with the 5.4 has the 3.55 LS right now and I want to put 4.10 gears in it. I'm doing that because I'm running slightly bigger tires now but in a few years when I'm out of warranty I want to do a lift and 35s so I figure I'll just do the big gear swap now rather than go to 3.73 then to 4.10s. So my question is what would I need to buy? Is 4.10 a good ratio or is 4.56 a good idea? And roughly how much this would cost? Thanks y'all I appreciate it

4.10 or 4.56 will be fine with 35s. If you aren't getting 35s now I would suggest sticking with the 4.10s as they will still be sufficient for 35s.

You will need the gears and a Master Install Kit.

As for cost that all depends on if your 4x4 or 4x2. Could be up to ~$1500 if your 4x4

Yeah you may just want to save that money in the bank until you plan on lifting so you can just get the 4.56s with your lift.
