Chances of tune causing problems?
HP ' s software is similar format to efi live as I own both. The Ford has different tables and mapping than the LS engines I am used to but then I didn't play with an VCT gen 4's either.... just my old gen 3's. I have the Gm software base for hp and made Ford an add on. It's nice as hp can tune a lot more gm pcm's than efi can.
I never did any Gen 4's either. Let me know when you get to playing with it. I have HP Tuners, I would just feel more comfortable with a pcm and standalone harness test before I do my actual truck lol. You hate the LS so much you got two fords? Lol. I still have one Gen 3 LS, aluminum 5.3 with 243 heads. Big cam, big stall, and soon to be a lot more boost. It's in my '85 SWB C10. We'll see what she does. Blew a $8k fully built 408.... So gonna play with junk yard motors for now.

Building that for this truck...

Will never sell this truck...

And have LS plans for this...

Yep... i hate Ls engines.
Once I build a second shop on my new place I will keep collecting 03 to 07 GMT800'S because I like them.... and maybe another 6.2 F150 or two...
I'm not scared to tune a truck as is. I will do my FX4 first... it's not my daily so I really don't care if I screw it up.

I've heard of completely stock trucks having issues, it's a numbers game. There are millions of trucks built and a certain % will fail. A properly built tune should not cause any additional damage on the engine. Now on the other hand, a poorly built tune can definitely increase the likelihood of damage but that is why you can't compare a tune to another tune. They are not equal, tuning software allows the person building the tune to do whatever they want.
