Default Cat back without mufflers...

Is anyone here running a cat back system with just the pipes and no mufflers installed? I went to a well known muffler guy here in town and he suggested this option for some good sounding rumble. He told me it would have the 4" stainless tips and I could either throw it straight out the back or turn it out past my rear tires....however I wanted for $300. He also said there is no warranty issues as long as you do whatever AFTER the catalytic converter.

DOnt do it mufflers are your friends. All the trucks I see around here with no mufflers sound like ******. There is always some hillbilly driving them looking and sounding like a fool. Magnaflo or even borla mufflers are not that much money. Everyone will thank you for using them. And then you cant get a ticket from the police for no mufflers as well.

Default I tried it, go with a magnaflow

I tried it before my magnaflow cat back system arrived, it definatly rumbled, but it didn't sound good under load . I would highly recommend a magnaflow , it is basically a straight thru muffler but it gives a nice deep tone all thru the RPM range, it sounds mean. I went with the 3" inlet to split rear 2-1/2" tailpipes, no tips.

ya i would run a muffler i have a buddy with an 09 straight piped and it sounds good ideling but when he drives it doesnt sound that good plus it pops and makes all kind of noice. I have an 11" body mangaflow and it sounds awsome its loud but not anoying and has a great tone. If you want loud that sounds good with no popping go get a flowmaster 40 series.

i suggest going on to youtube and looking around theres guys on there with every exhaust. thats what i did.

Yeah I am running without a muffler right now just had a muffler shop bend me a piece to go where the muffler goes and dump it in front of the passenger tire. It sounds good sitting but under load sounds like **** makes a whooshing sound and pops when I use tow/haul mode. Going to get me a flowmaster really soon just testing the sound first. Don't do it is my advice.
