Default A case of bad karma

Today while installing my throttle body spacer, I dropped a washer in the intake manifold. Rookie mistake I know. Long story short I couldn't get it out with a magnet so I called a couple buddies up and were gonna pull the manifold off. I don't know if I'll be able to reuse these gaskets I'll probably need new ones of your putting a throttle body spacer on or anything be EXTRA careful! Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks y'all

Get a bendable magnet, can get them at most part stores.

A good rule to follow when working around an open engine - stuff a rag in the opening to keep stuff from making it's way down into the motor.

Reminds me of a thread a number of years ago on a mustang forum. A rag was forgotten in the mouth of the intake and the motor started. Pieces of rag actually came out the exhaust. Scorched, hung in valves, it was a mess. Quite the epic thread IIRC.

Yuhp well me and some buddies were able to get it out with a magnet and some fishing line and a few prayers beforehand lol and the only reason I didn't have a rag in there was bc I needed to take it out to put the spacer on the manifold. But thanks for all the help y'all! I'll be sure to rig somethin up to stuff in there next time! Live and learn! I'll be sure to post a pic and video of the spacer and intake!
