Cargo Management System……..

Update
Ok, so as mentioned previously in this post, my holes were not threaded to begin with. I used a 5/16-18 tap to thread mine. Make sure the hole is no larger than 1/4", otherwise you'll have to go larger. I used stainless steel cap screws to secure it.
The half-slot channel comes in 2 sizes. If you look at my pics above carefully, you'll notice that on each end, the channel is "shimmed" out with a smaller piece of channel that has been painted black. The larger size works perfect for 3 corners; the smaller size works perfectly for the front corner of the bed on the drivers side. (I did use a couple large galvanized washers for each hole/bolt for the front pieces--there was a difference of about an 1/8")
Using a variable angle tool, I managed to get the rear "shim" pieces to conform to the bevel in side the truck.
So, tap the holes; cut 3 pieces of large half-slot and 1 piece of small half-slot to span the holes in the 4 corners. Bolt these pieces in (the small one in the drivers front corner).
The half-slot comes in 10' lengths. I cut mine in half, but you may want to go the full length. Line up where you'd like your full length piece to go, and bolt it into the center holes over the wheel wells (loosely at first, so you can make minor adjustments).
You'll have to use the special connectors now designed for the half-slot channel to connect the front & back to your shim pieces that are already bolted in place. Once you have it where you want it, tighten it all down.
Hope all this helps. Sounds confusing, but really isn't. Good luck with it!

My home made cargo control.
I fabricated a piece of channel, powdercoated and installed it on the bed rail. I then bolted "L" channel to the angle iron. The "L" channel supports a variety of quick release rings, bolts, anchors.
To carry things above the bed (and also provide additonal security for my tool box) I used Unistrut for cross pieces and bolted more "L" channel to that. The Unistrut pieces are bolted to "L" channel brackets on each end.
I also used the "L" channel bolts on the backside to support my LED bed lights.
The cross pieces can be removed and bolted for storage to the vertical straps as seen in the first picture.

Buy a 2x8 to go in the middle slots, cut to fit prefect and get an extendible bar you can use wherever you want. Pretty much all you need.

I had the Ford cargo system on my 2010 (Side rails & Front Bar) ....just put it on my 2013 I really like it comes in really handy when I haul something. Glad that I could use it again on my 2013

It is possible, but I don’t think it will have the rated capacity.
On the 6-1/2 beds, there are pre-drilled and threaded holes.
These holes have extra support welded behind them from what I could see
when I had the bed rail caps off to install the CMS.
If you were to just use rivet nuts (nutserts)
I would be afraid there would not be enough support.
But then again, it would depend on what you are going to try doing with it.
Good luck either way.

Edit: I think I just figured out my problem. I've got a 5.5 bed and not a 6.5 which means that I don't have the pre drilled and tapped mounting points.
