Cargo lights on all the time
Greetings - what could be why the cargo lights are on whenever the ignition is in “run?”
Curiously, the interior lights do not do this. They behave quite normally.
This is new behavior from my 2014 screw XLT. I don’t recall exactly when this began, but it was at least two weeks ago because I’ve been alternately searching for a solution and forgetting about it. I don’t recall doing anything to the truck which may have caused it.
The switch in the dash illumination control by my left knee turns the interior lights on/off and dims the dash just fine. But it does nothing for the cargo lamps - they keep blazing on.
If I turn off the ignition and do not open a door, the cargo lights go out right away. If I open and shut any door with the ignition off, the interior and cargo lights come on and time out as expected.
With the ignition in “run,” the cargo lights come on. If any door is opened and closed, the interior lights come on and off as expected, and the cargo lights remain on. They never go out until the ignition is in the off position.
They remain lit at surface street speeds and freeway speeds. And if I lock the truck with the fob, I get one beep from the horn.
Any ideas from ya’ll F-150 super sleuths?

All four doors have been open and shut multiple times since this began. I'd imagine that the interior lights would be lit if there was a problem with a door sensor.
I lock the truck using the fob with two pushes on the upper-left button, resulting in one beep from the horn.
Well not that it has anything to do with this, but you only need to lock with one button push.
I would be suspecting something related to the dash light controller at this point, do you have the rolley wheel or the button version with the extra push on up or down for interior/exterior lighting?

That dash button is a pain. I bet if you play with it you will be able to turn them off. I noticed it was sensitive when i first bought my truck. I dont use it except when the doors are open/unlock and i dont adjust the interior lights
It certainly has some slightly unclear operation and the full push (like the auto switch on the windows) isn't very clear on mine. It's either stuck, broken or both on yours - try unplugging it and see what the cargo light does.
