Can't read ABS module codes with forescan..Brake warning light is on
Today I got in my 2014 XLT from a trip to wal mart and as soon as I turned left out of the parking lot I had my entire dashboard light up with the brake warning message and a check advancetrac warning message. The abs light is on as well.
This happened a couple of months ago but it went away after I shut the truck off and turned it back on, This time it seems like its permanent.
I hooked up my laptop and tried to erase the codes on forscan but it says that it is unable to read the abs codes,
What would cause it to do that? would a bad abs module send some sort of a code at least ?
if anyone has dealt with this before, please let me know what you did. or if theres any way i can test the module or connections

If it can't read the module, I would guess there is an issue with the module. Check wiring to it.

This is an update for anyone with the same issue in the future.
I did resolve my problem after doing the pinpoint tests from the service manual. I had good voltage going to the abs however the resistance in my ground was not what the service manual said was normal. The manual called for 0.5 ohms at the ground terminals , mine was showing close to 70 ohms. So obviously something wrong with the ground. I checked on a wiring diagram and saw that the circuit was grounded at a point near the drivers side front of the engine bay. Turned out the bolt holding the ground connection was too loose. Once i tightened it up my issue got resolved.
Don't overlook the easy stuff i guess...

Well done. Thanks for the follow up - too few people ever come back and explain the fix.

Dude thanks for the clue! We had similar problem reading ABS module with FORscan. Found code U1900, but couldn't figure out why CAN was not communicating. OHMed the wires. Checked voltages. etc etc.
Then your clue to check the ABS module ground wire: reached in and fiddled the bolt - dang thing was loose as a goose.
Key words for anyone else finding this: U1900 ford mustang ABS and traction control lights always on.
