Can't locate the rattle under the truck
I have 2011 F150 XLT crew cab 4x4, Ecoboost
Truck has rattle sound coming from bottom of the truck near the engine.
Just can't figure out where.
Every time I had oil change done, I told them to check it out.
But dealer couldn't find anything, one time I had mechanic ride with me.
Mechanic told me, he took the bottom plate?? or something off and said reinstalled it. But I still have the rattle.
I'm really busy all the time to deal with the dealer, also no faith in dealer.
Kirkland Ford of WA
Anyone got ideas where the rattle might be coming from??
It rattles the most when I'm driving up the hill.
Not on flat road.
Rattle sound like thin metal on metal sound.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i had a similar rattle on my 2013. i've got the 5.0 and they routed the transmission cooler lines over to the driver side and down along the oil pan to the radiator. at one spot, the metal lines were laying against the oil pan and when you would hit the right rpm it would cause the lines to "rattle" against the oil pan. i could get mine to do it at about 1500-2000 rpms while sitting in my driveway in gear with one foot on the brake and one on the gas. once i could duplicate it i had my wife do the same while i went on the search for the rattle.

I ask because there was/is a torque converter issue that seems to cause a vibration and it sounds like what you describe. It happens when going 25-35 up hills with light throttle. If you let off or add more throttle it goes away.

Yes, it happens right around 35 mph ~ 39 mph !
Do they replace it to fix it?
