Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

What happens if you turn your truck off when the input is on Sirius or FM, then get back in the truck and press the aux button? Does it default to line in?

IT nerd geek DORK NERD
I never use Sirius, so I can't speak to that; but it defaults to whatever source I was last playing. I've not had to use the Aux button since the update. If I'm playing BT before I shut the truck off, it connects back to BT; same with radio.

Fast Bluetooth Selection Option
After much fiddling I found a two second button press work around that changed my life. Yes, I know it's a crappy seven (thanks Ford!) button press solution, but it's still way better and far faster than saying "Bluetooth audio". Hmm.. I wonder how many others have found out that that saying "Bluetooth ef'ing audio" doesn't work? Anyway.. here you go...
Press - Menu, OK, OK, Down, OK, Down, OK -- and Yea!!! No "I will connect you."-- and you can forget the "No Bluetooth audio present, I will try to connect you."
Watch the following 54 second video to see how easy it is if you don't believe me. You should have it half stuck in your head by the end of the video.

Thanks!

When I hit my AUX button now, it goes to line in and that's it. It used to cycle through other options but not any more. I need to **** around with the menus to get to bluetooth or USB now from another setting.
I was let to believe from my dealer that my issues with USB and my voice button were related to the default bluetooth functionality somehow but despite having my bluetooth issue fixed with this software update, I'm still having the other issues, maybe even moreso because of the AUX button. At least before I could cycle through options to get to USB where there's ALWAYS music.
Does anybody else have a USB stick that doesn't get recognized when they turn their truck on? Does anybody else's steering wheel voice button stop working at the same time? I'm quite certain that my sync system is pooched (and has been since I bought the truck) but even though I had full bumper to bumper warranty, the dealer wouldn't do anything to fix it.

Possible solve
When I just bought my '14 on good Friday I noticed this problem and immediately hated it.... thankfully an update had come out to SYNC version 4.2.2. Now when I get back in the truck, there is my Bluetooth, right where I left it. I have an iPhone 5S btw. Hope this will help some of y'all.

Just did this tonight. Update is easy but does take time.
Plug in USB and go find the install application option. It told me it needed to reboot then sat there in silence for a while. Could see USB activity light blinking so knew it was working. Took maybe 10 minutes total.
Lost my phone pairing in process which is fine so did master reset just in case. Paired phone and it found Pandora. Track information displays on screen for Pandora or phone MP3s. Bluetooth reconnects like it should.
Took 4 years but I'm happy with sync Bluetooth now.
