Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?

May not be what some guys who are encountering an issue want to hear, but for what it's worth my 2010 F150 picks up my iPhone 5S every time I get in/out and starts right up where it had left off. Truck was manufactured in August of 2010, and sold in October or November of that year, so I must have the right version of Sync. Haven't tried with any other devices. I've actually been fairly happy with the entirety of my Sync system's functionality.

I also used to have a 2010 F150 which had this older version of Sync that worked properly. I wanted an Ecoboost so I now have a 2012 F150, but of course it had a more up-to-date version of Sync which got rid of the properly working auto-connect feature.

This other version of Sync has been discussed previously in this thread. Their excuse for changing Sync (non MFT) to be the way it is now is that people were complaining about the Bluetooth from Sync draining the battery life on their phone I assume. Which is the most ridiculous thing ever, but whatever.

Have been seriously debating about taking the crappy Sync radio out of my truck and installing a head unit and connecting it with the steering wheel controls. I have a Nexus 7 tablet-in-dash install already, so I have to say Bluetooth Audio every time I get in my truck if I want to use my tablet >_<

I'm just glad that I mostly listen to my Sirius radio (talk stuff, like news/sports) ... and I don't have to fool with bluetooth audio all that much.

My 2014 will stay on bluetooth audio as long as my phone connects at start-up. If my phone isn't around when it starts up, it reverts back to normal radio.

The one thing I would like to change is being able to re-order the buttons on the radio that change between inputs. Bluetooth audio is on page 2 ... Sirius is on page 1 ...

I'm surprised no body has hacked into the software and made their own improvments.

while functional (in it's own way), the current SYNC system is so fubar that you'd have to start from scratch to make any real "improvements" ...

This issue has to be the software. I just sold my 2011 mustang GTCS and it automatically started Bluetooth audio where I left off, my 2012 fx4 on the other hand does not. Seems to me like it would l be the software, no other difference in the systems

Are only android users seeing this? Because my Droid RAZR HD updated to Kit Kat last week, and the issue is gone. Connects when I get in, stops playing when I turn the truck off, and then starts playing when I get back in. I need to try some other apps but this is the behavior I see with DoggCatcher (podcast app) to make sure it wasn't an app update, but I think something with the KitKat update has changed the bluetooth pairing. No more Line In.

Not saying it's not SYNC, but I think there are probably a lot of variables at play here. I'm only somewhat techy and haven't had time to really troubleshoot but something has changed in my setup and this issue is gone.

I'm using a Galaxy S4 on KitKat ... and when I turn on bluetooth audio, it works fine ... plays whatever is playing on my phone, be it my music app, pandora, youtube videos, whatever ... and when I turn the truck off, whatever was playing on my phone cuts off. When I get back in my truck , assuming i have my phone with me (and bluetooth on), it just starts back up where it left off.

If i do NOT have my phone with me, it changes to FM radio automatically. I wish I could set the default to be SXM, but I can't.

This is how mine normally works, but as of last week, it wont play BT audio at all. Phone functionality works fine, but music over bluetooth does play at all. It's so frustrating

To make it worse, I thought, hey no problem I have a USB cable right here... yeah right, this device doesn't support playing unprotected music over USB. - Unprotected music? WTF is that?

Do you have a My Ford Touch (MFT) system in your vehicle?
