Might have to wire my 5 pin back up and get a adapter then. I have my five wires terminated onto a 7 pin and I dont get the extra blinks or the you have trailer back there screen. Also I am about to rip thr hydraulic brakes off this thing, just rebuilt them and the hubs and it smells like burning grease after towing long distances. Grease gun in the tool box.

You should be able to disable the rear sensors and leave them off.

I have the factory tow package, but no tbc which is fine. Ive never towed with this truck, nor never will. Just out of curiosity, if I connect a 7-pin to 4-pin adapter, will this give my truck 5 vs 3 flashes from the turn signals or no?

Down arrow then "ok" on steering wheel controls usually shuts it up for me when backing up with my utility trailer. Stays off until next startup of truck.

Like others have said you can disable the back up sensors when you put it in reverse, and I'm pretty sure there is an option in the settings to permanently turn it off.

As for the extra turn signal blinks... is it really worth it? I mean you can always turn it on full time and then turn it off after the lane change lmao

I've tried to permanently disable the sensor, can't be done in my truck... I can disable them but the next time I start the truck they are enabled again - for my safety I presume.

Gas station, rest area, - every stop where the truck is turned off... When towing a 27' boat, I will have to reverse often at gas stations. Put in reverse BEEEEP

you should be able to add a large (power dissipation) resistor from the trailer brake pin to ground on the trailer and the TBC will see current flow when you press the brakes. this would have to be wired up on the wiring on the boat trailer. Each electric brake flows about 3 amps so a total of 6 amps will act like two electric trailer brakes...a resistor like THIS should work. You can then ground one lead on the resistor to the trailer frame and run a wire on the other to the trailer brake pin (#2) on the trailer's connector.

You can add a trailer brake magnetic to the truck or the trailer. ($20)

The trailer would be my way. Mount the puck close to the tongue and run the wires. The controller sees brakes when there are none.

Mounting on the truck you would have to have male plug/connector on the puck and female to join the wire coming from the trailer's 7 pin connector.

I'm sure there is a resistor out there that could work, but it would be constant. Where the brake magnet will vary the resistance.

Not a good idea imho, we don't know what all the truck changes when it knows there is a trailer. The trailer tow button might have a completely different set of parameters.
