Default Camshaft problem

Hey, I am new to this forum and thought I would ask you guys for your input on what could potentially be wrong with my truck. I have a 2009 f150 with the 5.4, 3valve, and I keep getting a couple codes pop up along with a really rough idle.

These codes are;

P0345 - camshaft position sensor A circuit (bank 2)
P0012 - intake camshaft position timing - over - retarded ( bank 1) and ( bank 2)

My truck idles horribly and starts knocking really bad until I increase the RPM's. I had a my girlfriends dad (certified heavy duty mechanic) look at it and change the VCT solenoids out, but it still didn't fix it.

Any tidbits or help would be extremely appreciated.

I have the similar issue, clunking under load. The wife knows I'm home because of this noise (ya funny). So I just replaced the solenoid last weekend. So far the heavy clunking is gone, but still have flutter when the throttle is open, like the lifter sound (may as well be).

I became an expert in opening the crank covers. Chains seem to be in good conditions, tight, only a very slight slack. Visually, the sprockets wears are normal, cam shafts still look good. Phasers seem to be solid and straight when viewed from the side.

Keep updating please. I'm sure I have to work on the phaser this spring, I can't be that lucky. Good luck.
