Default cam replacement after level kit

I'm putting an AS 1.5" leveling kit on my '12 SCREW on Friday. I called a place to get it aligned and was told that I'd need to replace the cams on both sides since I'm altering the height of the truck. $129 each side. Everything I've read on here about leveling kits, seems that people just get an alignment afterwards. Is it necessary?

I call B.S. Get another shop. Sounds like they are trying to fleece ya! Never heard of any other member on here having to do this! They either don't want to do it, don't know how to do it, or think you're stupid and aren't a member of F150Forum.com.

I put a 3" level kit and it aligned fine without replacing any cam bolts.

OP- Its not that you need new cams, its the fact that ford doesn't use them on the F150. If you don't want the extra charge, see how the alignment is without them. If you want to really dial in the front they make it easier and will help hold the alignment better. I really wish ford would just put them on at the factory.
