Run a controlled test, then post your results and I will believe them. Otherwise there are way too many variables to claim the 4MPG gain, that's a huge jump when most don't see an improvement at all.

My best friend has a 2011 Raptor Screw 6.2L. He put an AFE and a SCT X3 on his truck. He went from 9 MPG up to 13.? MPG. So I know it can be done....

Again, was this a controlled test?

My truck varies 4MPG based on driving conditions, fuel type used, speed, wind, etc. I cover a 4 state area and drive the same roads, at the same speed ALOT. My mileage is NEVER the same.

Without a controlled test any claim of a performance or mileage increase is just that, a baseless claim.....

Facts and data, otherwise it's BS...

ETA: with a tuner I can acknowledge the potential for a mileage improvement.

Dude calm down, don't get your panties in a bunch!!

Yes it is a "controlled test" Its the same four miles a day he drives. The same four miles he has driven for the last 3 years. in three different trucks.

I call BS on your BS!! ( See I can use them too!! )

Everyone is calm here....

4 miles is a great controlled test, I drive 400 a day on many days, if these things really did provide such a benefit don't you think I would be using them?

I am reimbursed for mileage, dollars saved go directly into my pocket, I've run the numbers on many different products and the cost isn't justified.

I would be better off driving a 30+MPG compact, but I refuse to spend that much time cramped up.....

ETA, I just tested my truck and I ran a quarter mile in 8 seconds, seriously, all I did was the gotts mod and now it is an 8 second ride, it's amazing, and the gotts mod was free, this isn't BS, it happened, I told myself it did, and my buddies saw it.....

(see I can make baseless claims too)

Seriously save your money. CAI does nothing at all compared to stock airbox with a clean stock filter. The stock setup already draws cold air from outside the engine compartment and already has more than enough flow capacity for the 5.4. Just take off the stock silencer/restrictor (Gotts).

Even with tune/exhaust/CAI you'd be lucky to see an honest 20 hp which about 6% difference from stock...anyone who says they can feel this by seat of the pants is deluded. At the very least you have to consider if it is worth possible warranty issues for 6%.

As soon as someone shows me an independent dyno with before and after comparison I'll change my mind

haha this makes the most sense of all when addressing actual mpg increases. something psychological about actually hearing your wallet drain vs. not hearing it drain. hahahaha!

This is not to sound argumentative but...

What do you have on your truck? If you do not have an intake/tune/exhaust how can you speak for what you feel in the seat of your pants? Anyone can show you some dyno numbers. The way a vehicle feels when your driving it is what most people judge by.

The overall drive-ability of the truck is what your gonna feel. Not percentages of hp gained.

Why is this thing on our trucks to begin with?
