Default Cab Corners - Worth it?

Got a 2010 SCREW w/ 5.4. The cab corners are jacked... Otherwise the truck is perfect.

I have put enough into the truck that i am going to keep it for a few years...

Is it worth having the cab corners done? Its aprox $1200.

How bad will they get if I ignore it? Aside from looks should I care? Has anyone had theirs done?

Also, I have fixed the leak in the light that causes the problem.

thanks for any input

No, I dont. I already tried to sand/primer/paint them myself... but I am no body guy. The rust showed back up within a month.

Basically, the rust goes from the underside and up the outside about 3-4 inches. It also goes back (towards the rear) on that piece that ducks behind the front of the bed. At that curve I was able to push my finger through the body... (accidentally)

I think it's worth it, especially if the truck is as described. Try to find a shop that have done a few so they know what to clean up to prevent it from happening again. Then the onus on you to keep them cleaned and oiled up to prevent it from happening again.

I agree, I would do it only because its a lot of money invested in the truck overall and the rust is only going to get worse if not addressed.

I'm OCD so knowing this is happening would bother me.

I know the $1200. is a lot but if you plan on keeping it a few years it amortizes out over the long haul.
Not to mention when you do decide to sell it the resell value will be at least $1200.00 higher because the corners are not rusted out.
Good luck

Mine are a lot worse than that. They drive me nuts...

Has anyone actually had them done? Before/after pics?

$1200 seems excessive for cab corners...
