Buying 2011-2013 5.0 F-150 4X4. Tips?
I'm looking to buy a 2011-2013 F-150 4X4 5.0 crewcab with around 80,000 miles on it. What all do I need to be on the lookout for? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the cab corners for rust/paint bubbles. Check the engine for any obvious knocking noises. Check the inside of the cab to see if the third brake light was leaking. Just a few for starters. Test drives always help.

I would also cycle through the ac and heater modes to make sure you are getting hot and cold air as selected and listen for any popping noises coming from the dash. This would indicate a bad blend door, which are common but inexpensive if your handy and have small hands.... Just kidding... it does help though.
I have a 2011 XLT 5.0 133K and so far the blend door, drivers door check and battery are the only parts i have replaced.
Good luck....

Try and find a truck with 3.73 gears, you'll be happy with that acceleration. I personally like the Fx4 and Lariat trims just for the AC vented seats, but fully loaded XLT models are good, I just like the luxury options. These trucks are pretty reliable so just look for items others posted about and common sense stuff like makinf sure window motors are working etc.

I just bought my 2011 XLT with 58K miles, off-road package for $23,500. Has 3.73's... only issue so far was the rear defroster had failed, very common for these trucks. Some have even exploded due to shorting out. Dealer replaced mine for free. Other notable issue is the 5.0 knock that some have coming from the bottom end. Seems to be harmless since some truck with 280+K miles still have the small knock. I also had to splice the back door wires in the door jamb since they commonly break. Rear door wouldn't unlock from front button.
