Buy Truck Without opening the door?
Would you ever buy a truck without even opening the door?
I had a friend come to town and buy his new '13 FX4 Eco, SCrew. He didn't test drive it, or even open the door before he bought it. The first time he was inside the truck is when he drove it off the lot.
There was quite a bit of price negotiating. He's not the one that just walks in and in 5 minutes writes a check for MSRP. It was ALL about the price actually, not exactly the truck.
Now he did test drive a model very similar a week prior at a different dealership, but he still didn't drive the truck he was about to own.
So, would you buy a brand new truck without even sitting in it before you buy it?

I did the same when i purchased my car. Test drove one out of town, and 1 month later at my local dealer bought one. Which they had ti dealer trade 450 km away. Never seen or drove it before i had all the papers signed.
If you have done your research on the vehicle in question, i dont see no problem with it

I bought my truck without sitting in it. I did open the door and look inside real quick.
What happened was.... I ordered the truck. It came in 34 days later. When I went to pick it up they asked me if I wanted to test drive it but I didn't. I just wanted to sign the paperwork and get the hell out of there.

Ok, if you had the opportunity, would you? He was at the dealership for 3 hours and the truck was just sitting there in inventory. He turned down a test drive from the sales guy multiple times.
Maybe I am in the minority, I would test drive if given the option.

I wanted a leftover 2012 SCAB with an 8' bed, not allot of them around. My dealer did not have one but got it in as a dealer swap, so the first time I saw the truck I had already bought it.
The funny thing is it is dark blue pearl metallic and looking at the sales brochure it looked purple, but the salesman said it was not, I told him if the truck came in and it was purple I did not want it but I was pretty much committed.

Yep, did the same with my 2013 KR. I took it down the street and back, closed the deal they cleaned it up and off i went. The internet with pics and window stickers available give you the info you need to narrow down your search for the right truck and which dealer has it. I drove 2.5 hrs to the dealer that had the truck I wanted. That salesmen was lucky that day. He was shocked that the deal went so quick. Especially a $55k truck. When you know what you want then theres little that is gonna stand in your way other than price, and the dealer always finds the right price to get you out the door.
