At least 2 promises in the last several weeks to report back on brightness/pics to show how they light up and the posters never followed through.

While I cant speak for these.... or the OP.
Normal 5W LEDs are bright as hell. Only issue I could see is previous similar designs were pretty "Spot Light" and did not fill out behind vehicles / flood pattern. So while you would be able to see behind you pretty well... it would be the objects off to the slight sides that might get missed.

Here's a shot of the screen on the backup camera utilizing the Rigid Duallys. No pics of mounting, but they're mounted to the rear leaf shackles.

Here is the video I made of the 7W Cree lights. They don't work.

Meanwhile, on my Infiniti puddle-jumper all five cameras work fine in complete darkness because Infiniti uses better cameras than Ford.

The Crees do work and in my opinion are better than the factory bulb but maybe they aren't the optimum light for the back up cameras. I don't have a camera so I was just looking for brightness behind me when I back up.
I wish they were more flood than spot but they are still an improvement for us guys not looking in the camera.

Default Infra red camera... no lights needed unless you want to

Hello all,

I hope I do not threadjack this thread. I have a camera that has builtin infrared lights. It lights up so that I can see very clearly on what is behind me. It is a very wide lens, so much so, I can see about 30 feet. Anything beyond that, it is pretty much a tiny dot.

I am sure all you F150 owners can pretty much agree that our tailgate is a huge barn door. Any mini coopers or miatas that pulls up behind us pretty much become invisible. Parking lots are a huge mine fields. After using all my mirrors on the truck to back up and align my truck correctly... I can backup to how close I can to the vehicle that is directly behind me. Try doing that by eyesight alone, especially when there is no concrete parking barrier to pull up to.

Also, the existing backup lights that Ford provides is adequate when backing up. It does not hinder the infrared lights on the camera itself.

I bought mine from Costco. Not having this done before, my friend and I installed it within 4 hours, I got the 2 camera setup with 7 inch monitor with the ability to attach a future camera to attach to a trailer if I wanted to.

Unfortunately, my cell phone camera wont let me send pictures at all. Hope this helps!

AS others have done the only way to fix this flaw is to put some ceap, small foglights back there. The OEM lights cannot be replaced with bulbs that provide enough ilumination.
