Default Brakes

Hi I have a 2013 Supercrew 3.5l my braked started acting up tonight I tap the brakes a few times the if I come to a stop I have a really hard pedal and it’s hard to stop. I had a recall done quite a few months ago for the master cylinder could it be a bad one?

Possible. Other things possible, too, like the booster. There's nothing special about the brakes, standard troubleshooting is what you want.

Your problem may stem from a defective or failed vacuum motor that provides vacuum to the brake booster on the V6 Eco-Boost engines. It's located behind the left front headlight and is known to fail from aluminum corrosion. The newer replacement ones are made of ABS plastic and solve the corrosion problem.

Thanks for the reply I was just doing some research and that’s what most things I found were pointing towards. I couldn’t seem to find an aftermerket pump online besides from there’s a chance that HELLA makes one with the same specs anyone ever tired this route?
