Truck is not tuxedo what that's the color I will be using even though my truck is just regular black from 09 the tuxedo parts look nice on my truck, fromt and back bumpers are tux and my grille, also my handles are in the priming stage of being complete so this will b easy to add while I'm doing every thing at once

Definitely doable my friend. I would recommend stainless ones if they sell em.. primer and paint bonds to stainless extremely well, though plastic will work as well. just make sure you buy a primer that wont react with the plastic!

Saw this on eBay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GLOSSY-BLACK...3db255&vxp=mtr

Decent price, straight forward install, looks decent.

I think I would go with these over painting or the 3m.

Looking at my truck I think I may hold off on this. If I had the gloss black front grill I might do it. But as I see it, for my truck, the gloss pillars dont really tie into anything. Might look weird/out of sorts even though I added factory PTM flares on my FX4.

Thoughts?

Ok so as promised i bought the ebay piano black gloss 3m pillar covers. They look pretty good i got some pics to compare the difference. It was pouring here last night so i did my best with the before picture. I think ill keep them awhile and see how durable they are/look in sun and from different angles

No its a 2009 didnt have tux black paint then, it works well ptm wise because its seperated by the widow trim. I have some tux black parts on my truck like my grill and handles it looks good love that color. But i think you should be good they were $38.00 on ebay came in 2 days and man they are sticky

I did the same, bought these on ebay for 35.00 + shipping. They are thicker than I thought about an 1/8". They seem durable and scratch resistant similar to the OEM ones on the wife's explorer which have held up great for 7 years. I like the look.
