Default "box Light"

I finally have my first truck (March 2010), 2010 F150 screw XTR/4X4 (USA crome pkg). I have a couple of questions that should be simple for you experienced guys.

When the tonneau cover is on, I have a hard time seeing into the truck box especially at night. I am assuming the light at the rear of the cab was supposed to take care of this issue?
Q:
1, has anyone hooked up a light or something that would allow better illumination when the cover is on? Ideally if it tied into the rear cab light "box light" that would be great, i think?
2, Is there a way to turn on the "box light" without turning on the interior cab lights?

Thanks for your help

Thanks Platinum Sean,
do you know if it is hooked up to the 12v and has a switch? Or does it tie into the existing bed light?

Platinum Sean - thanks for the link, that looks awesome! Wonder how similar those are to Spider Lights that you can get for Motorcycles. I like the under the bed rail idea.

I would assuem that yuo could go to Wally World (Walmart) and get a couple 9" LED sticks, put them up with clips, and wire them to a switch, or to the cargo light yourself. I recall someone here wiring in a push switch, like an alarm button that you would have on your door, to trigger the alarm when the door opens. I guess the issue there is if you travel with the gate down, ...

So many ideas and possibilities now that I think about it.
