Default Blown ecoboost replacing

Well I decided to have a new motor put in my platinum. The truck has 100k miles on it but I know what I have and it’s paid for in full.

I did end end up buying a new motorcraft alternator for cheap on eBay and asked the dealer to install the new one instead of transferring the old one with 100k miles and 5 quarts of oil blown all over it. I suspect it was the safe bet, much cheaper than paying up later for labor and parts.

Truck was rolled into bay today, I suspect it’ll be done by next Tuesday assuming all goes smooth.

kind of nervous but really want to get my wheels back, car rental is a total waste of $$$

70 MPH down highway. 1 hour into drive and lost power. CEL flashed . Pulled over to a river of oil behind my truck. Found a piston pin laying on the road behind my truck and a hole in block at number 4 cylinder. Rod was shattered. I dunno if it hydrolocked or if a piston skirt failed from stress. I suspect it was from stress. I did run a tune but it’s far from aggressive. It was a 5 star tune for fuel economy.

Hard coughing up $$$ for a new motor. Not like you can get financing for it like buying a new car. I have rainy day funds but $10k+ is more of a **** storm hell has frozen over kinda day
