Default Blend Door ?

I have only cold air coming out of my driver's side vents. From my research it seems to be the driver's side blend door actuator. I haven't tried resetting it yet, will try that tonight/tomorrow. My question is does the dash need to come out to replace it? I've read that you can do it without and I've read that it has to come out. Any guidance would be appreciated.

its easier taking it out but very labor intensive.. I changed mine out without taking the dash out. difficult but possible.

Was able to reset it by pulling the fuse. I know it's only a temporary fix until I change it. Do you guys recommend changing both actuators or should I just change the one for the driver's side?

Default blend door

on my daughters 2011, I did not pull the dash, there is a youtube that shows how, you have to alter some things, specifically where a screw goes on the bottom, you have to remove that plastic extension the screw goes in.
Get over it.
no rattles, no failures, it works, poor design by ford to have to remove the "box" with AC and heat, that means you dump freon and coolant, a good 8-10 hrs.
just my opinion.
as far as replacing the passenger side, just did that on her truck yesterday, took me about 30 mins, just pull the radio, tilt open the glove box, do a reach around(one hand thru radio hole and the other up thru the glovebox) from the passenger seat, there ya go. piece of cake.

I wouldn't touch that drivers until I had to.

My blend door actuator made that continuous clicking noise. I saw a youtube video and jiggled the connection and it's worked flawlessly since - about 6 months so far.
