Bumping this helpful thread.

I installed the rears last night. As everyone knows they're stupid easy.

I called a local spring and alignment shop to get a price for the fronts. He's saying it's 2 hours(ish) for labour and an alignment id be looking at $350. I don't mind paying that for the piece of mind but there's that 1% in the back of my mind that's saying "you can do it yourself" so what I'm asking is how hard are the fronts and how long do they take?

I have some knowledge and ability to tackle certain jobs. I've done brakes, a t-bar lift on a ranger. I also had a coilover swap done on my ranger and had to replace a broken coil once. Aside from the corroded bolt I had to drill, I was able to do that.

From what I have read and what a buddy said the compression of the coil can be a bear and sketchy. I don't own a compression tool like I've seen but I do have the 2 piece kind linked here:https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...or/A-p2920186e

I've read our coil up front is a heavy duty one, does anyone know the spring rate for them?

The spring compressors you linked aren't well suited for the job. I bought some gently used Bilstein assemblies (mount, spring, etc.) and wanted to adjust them higher before I installed them. I tried using my compressors (just like the ones you linked) and they would barely move the coil. I gave up and just installed them as-is. If a shop is will to swap everything over in two hours that's not half bad IMO, just make sure your IWE's are working okay when they are all done!

If you can pull your stockers off, bring the old and new assemblies to a shop to swap the coils, then come back and do the install yourself that's probably the cheapest way to do it. But chances are they will charge you close to an hours labour to do that so you might as well just pay the other hour for them to do the whole job.

$300ish is pretty good with alignment.

Fronts would be almost as easy as rear if the coilovers weren't an issue.

I found a Ford dealer in West Virginia who did it for $200 with alignment. I had it done while on a hunting trip and haggled with the dealer. They cried a little but did it.

I could not find anything telling me where to put these rubber bushings, Is it suppose to go on infront of the Yellow OEM bumper? Like to hold it from moving?

Thanks,
