Default Bilinvic Retrofits Installed - Holy #%#@$!

Received my Bilinvic retrofits on Tuesday. Here's what I ordered:

FX-R Package w/3” lens & 5Five ballasts and 5k bulbs
Gloss black painted shrouds and matte black reflector bucket
Tinted amber reflector
Tinted turn signal lens
New OEM FX/HD headlights

First off let me just say that the communication from Bil was excellent. I patiently waited for my turn and received an email from Bil when I was on deck to confirm my order. Once my lights were complete, I received another email with shipping information. The lights were very will packaged in the original OEM headlight box. Wiring harness was wrapped in bubble wrap and neatly taped to the inside of the box. The quality of Bil's work is amazing! I'm an engineer and can be pretty picky at times, especially with my truck. These lights look OEM. Incredible work Bil!!!!!

Installation should have been very simple. There is a very good video on youtube that documents the install.
It took me less than an hour to remove my old headlights and install the new ones. Unfortunately my passenger light did not work. Time for troubleshooting. I swapped lights and determined that it wasn't the headlight assembly. I checked all the wires and connectors, but nothing was loose. Time for the multi-meter. Voltage to the ballast on the drivers side was around 14.4 volts. Passenger side was a little over 8. No bueno. Only thing left to check was the ground. I made the mistake of grounding to a bolt that holds the fog light clip, as suggested in the video. Worked fine for the driver's side, but not for the passenger side. I played around with that for a while but was unable to get the proper voltage. Finally I grounded directly to the negative battery terminal and voila! So, I used a self-tapping sheet metal screw to attach the ground directly to the frame and it worked. I did the same thing to a driver's side just to be safe. Buttoned everything up, aligned the headlights, and was done. Moral of the story, don't shortcut the ground!

Holy ***** these lights are bad*****!!! Going to put some 5k leds in the fogs for now. Probably going to retrofit those next. Here are some pics from my iphone:

You will like the 5k led fogs. I have them with my retrofitted headlights as well. And they are bright! Bright enough that im not going to drop $500+ on retrofitted foglights. Not worth it imo.
