Went to a place today to ask about getting some tires put on and he said he would not thing I could get anything bigger on without a leveling kit on the front. I think he just wanted to get me to purchase the leveling kit no matter what. By the way...the kit was $99 but with labor it would be right at $500. Is that normal?

Retail price on the kit seems fine but the labor is high. If a shop knows what they are doing they can do it in 2hrs or less. My neighbor has a garage and never put one on but said if I helped he'd try it. It only took us 2 1/2 hrs

My level kit was about the same price. Labor was about $150 installed and it took two guys 20 minutes to put it on so 40 minutes total. Balance and alignment came with the new tires I purchased. Maybe your labor cost has that included. Still a little high though. The highest estimate I received was $250 and that included alignment.
