Has anyone had any luck upgrading their calipers at least? I would be happy to find better performing calipers that bolt on, and just get a set of drilled or slotted rotors...

I would like to know what's wrong with the factory brakes. The OEM brake system is like any other part of our trucks and that is if they are kept in good serviceable condition they will last a long time and perform well. If you are going to do a lot of heavy towing or hauling that may be a different situation that would warrant a brake upgrade.

That's it. Towing, and I have to come down a pretty substantial hill on my way to our local boat launch. I've already had a couple edge of the seat moments coming down this hill during heavy traffic even while using the tow/haul mode.

How close is your truck to its max tow capacity? Rather than put that much into new upgraded heavier duty brakes, maybe you should consider upgrading to a heavier duty truck.

Funny you mention that because I was about to say the same thing in my last post. That I will have to take up offline with the wife

Take a look at the following kit from Todd @ TCE. He is very knowledgeable. These kits require 20" wheels, though. They are a little pricey.

Default Big brake kit?

I have EBC slotted rotors, green stuff pads and stainless lines F/R. HUGE improvement over stock and that includes the addition of 37's and a bunch of bumper / side step weight.

You might want to try different set of pads before spend ton of money for new whole kit. OEM isnt that great imo.
