Best non HID bulbs
#22
I already did in my first post - fourth paragraph from the bottom.
FWIW - if (a) an HID retrofit isn't in the cards, and (B) the OP does not care aboot legalities, you can find some higher wattage bulbs ( just keep it below 80w). To use them safely, one needs to upgrade the socket, the wire gauge, and build (or buy) a fused relay harness to switch primary battery power direct to the headlights (sounds familiar, eh?).
This'll give a few more lumens. Whatever you do OP, do NOT fall for any of the currently available 9008/H13 LED bulb replacements - they are, without exception - not intended for low-beam use in yer stock housings, and most of them are over-rated, unreliable garbage.

As already stated - not a suitable low-beam light source - and most are total misrepresented, disingenuous poor quality garbage.
Excerpted from TRS - probably the highest quality unit available currently:
"A great choice for Daytime Running Lights, fog lights, or high beams..."
"Locations: DRL, High Beam, Fog Lights (NOT FOR LOW BEAM USE)"

I found in my 2012 f150 the PIAA Extreme Whites were a fair bit brighter than stock. I tried 4 or 5 diff option and to me the PIAA were the best non HID.

Important: do not touch bulbs with your fingers when installing. It will shorten there life span. Use gloves/ latex or be careful.
