mbullock; I'm late for the party I know , but a question , your sign off says you did a
" power heated side mirror upgrade " . I've got a 2012 XLT Screw with the "standard" side mirrors , I would like to change them to the power towing mirrors ( or maybe the manual ones , whichever works out best ) , my local dealer parts guy says not possible , parts not available . My question for you ; Is the wiring in the truck already there or did you have to pull additional wiring? , Was the mounting a simple bolt on or were changes required ? Many thanks for your time and effort , BTW your truck looks great !

Take new mirror, line it up and pop clip into place and replace nuts and plug in harness. Simple, can be done in an hour.
I bought mine from 1Aauto.com from the vendor section for under $300. They are power, turn signal, puddle lamps, heated and manual fold and extend.
I have a 2010 and I had just the power mirrors, no turn signals or puddle lamps. Putting on my new tow mirrors I gained signals, puddle lamps and if I bought a new HVAC module with a defrost button, I would have heated mirrors.

Yes. As RES4CUE said. They plug right in and work! I also have a '10 like him. The '11's and up need something different to get the heat to work. Member Corvettedreamin found out the way there.

I love your ideas for a bed divider so I'm putting one together. What did you use to cut out your holes? What kind of hinge did you use for the extender? It almost looks like a cabinet hinge when I zoom in on the picture but I can't tell for sure. Thanks for sharing your ideas

I don't want to answer for Maximus but I'm hoping to use the holes for an easy way to slide my fishing rods in and out. I used a pressure treated 2x12 so it is on the heavy side so the holes should help with the weight as well. My thought is that the piece that extends to the back of the bed will help keep my tackle box from sliding side to side.
For me the holes were just a way to cut down on the weight, I got that idea from another forum member's picture, I'd give credit but I can't find the post at the moment.
Yeah, the extender piece was to break up the bed to prevent things from sliding from side to side. I have a regressed cabinet hinge that has right angle lock spring that holds the extender is place, then I've got strong magnets in place to keep locked in when folded.
Papa_Legba,
is that a bottle opener on yours? that looks perfect for tailgating I've got to make one for my dad's truck as well, I'm sure he will use the holes for fishing rods also

Nice addition with the bottle opener! Can you post some more pics? I'm curious about how it swings with the hinge.

Mine is still a work in progress but I can post some pics when I'm finished. I just used an extra shed door hinge that I had in the shed for the whole divider and a smaller one for the smaller divider arm. I had the bottle opener laying around so I thought it would be a good addition for camping and tailgating. I'd take a look at Maximus' photos a few pages back. I like his locking hinge for the arm and magnet idea. I decided to use a hook and eye to hold the arm out because I had an extra. I still need to cut out the holes to lessen the weight and for my fishing rods. It's still pretty heavy

I am looking for someone to come up with a less than $50 mod so the tailgate doesn't bounce off my 2012 Eco screw if I have it down at the farm but not with a ton of stuff loaded on it. I mean it bounces so hard it scares the kids and dog both. Couldn't ford have thought to make it so you could lock it open? I was thinking of mounting a small hook or something and running a bungee or rope to the hitch. Any other suggestions from you smart fellers?
