Looks like a great mod. I bought an 8ft box so I would not be wanting any more.

Thanks guys. The 5.5' box was a compromise so I can fit the truck in the garage.

Ok. Dumb question. Is that a real GPS unit?

Well I don't know if this has been done or not, probably so. Anyway, it always bugged me that I have 3 lights in the rear dome light, but only 1 is used as a dome, and the outer are map lights. So, after a quick trip to radio shack for 1.95 twin pack of diodes and a short jumper wire, I now have a rear dome with all 3 lights functioning as a dome. The map lights still function independently as well.

Could you repost the picture maybe a little larger? I like what you did but I can't quite see all the details.

Ok, lets try this... I think I figured out how to resize the pic correctly.

It would look cleaner if I could have found a diode with a longer anode wire for the one on the right, but o-well, now that it is installed it can't be seen anyhow!

I drilled 2 small holes where the diodes go through the plastic wall near the lamp, this was just to keep the profile lower.

And no, the "x" and "c" were not written by me, so they have nothing to do with this mod. Came from factory like that, I have no idea what it is for.

Anyhow, so far I like the mod. Now that I know it works as I had hoped, it is time to get some better LED's (currently have el-cheapos from China). I used to have a set of Putco's in my previous F150, I think I will go with those again.

A 1N4004 or equivalent should work.
1A 100V or more.
(I know a 1N4004 is 400V but it's a common item.)
