At first it is kind of tricky not hard at all. Seat has to be raised up, so with the bottom flip it up and with fingers you got to pull that piece upward and click unlatches. There are videos on youtube I will try to find some.

I need to do this mod! I want to drill a small hole and attach a ring on it for a more secure hold. I like your idea though quick and easy.

O ya, this only cost me 23 dollars for the part and about 6 dollars in spray paint. I need another coat on the black yet and then i'll put some clear coat on it. It should look pretty sweet.

Air doesn't enter the engine there, its cooled there.

Your comparison would be for intake, not IC.

It still has all the air that does pass, plus above and below.

I realize it blocks a portion, but idk if that portion would be enough to actually cause harm to the engine due to it not cooling down the air enough. Its hard to imagine it would, but I don't discount the idea because I have nothing to prove it either way.

A better way to express the potential issue would be like trying to catch your breath by sitting in a hot car on a humid day with no AC. Its getting the same amount of air, its just not as cold as it could be.

LOL! By your theory what is the point in an intercooler then?

There is no fan to draw it across the intercooler and it is directly behind that opening. Block it and you block the flowing air across it.

Cold air is more dense. When you compress air it heats up. When you draw ambient air across it in the intercooler it cools the compressed air down, therby allowing more actual air to be forced into the engine...and in turn more fuel...and in turn more power.

Try replacing your intercooler with a straight pipe and see what happens.
