Why not? I'm just looking to put something slightly useful there, maybe another power port or something

Just pick up an "add a circuit " from autozone about $6.00 and tap into a delayed circuit in the fuse box. In my 2009 F150 fuse #41 was delay. being delayed the power will stay on till you open the door.

I was thinking of making a plate for some switches and putting it in the hidden cubby that pops out underneath the radio/climate control but no need for any switches...yet

Like an inch and a half deep and however wide the cubby is with enough room for all the wires with a master ground and power then run a bundle to a box in the engine compartment with all the relays, etc. Would keep it hidden and if you did it all at once you'd never have to take anything apart again, just attach your wire to the relay and you're good to go
