What are ppl doing for the backup camera?

I'm currently using a Pioneer nav/head unit..and hate it...so many idiosyncracies with it! I want to switch back to a stock head unit, and use the ipad over the front of it...but i dont want to loose the back up camera. I was contemplating installing a new mon itor in the sun visor...my sync is inthe rear mirror, so i dont want to spend like $400 on a new mirror with the screen...and ideas?
