Beginning of the end?
That'll be the engine that satisfies everyone. The V8 rumble, the sound of the turbos spooling.
It'll also eliminate that damn division the turbo 6 vs V8 has created between us.
I'm gonna take a guess, but the power that will put out, is going to leave the other manufacturers literally playing catch-up.
I gotta say, I was feeling a little uneasy at the thought of the possible demise of my beloved V8. Now I have a renewed enthusiasm for the future.

I doubt you'll see that 5.0 twin turbo engine in a regular production vehicle. That engine was in the 2013 Cobra Jet concept car. That's about a $30k engine.

As much as I hate to give dodge kudos. We still love tire shredding V8's, and the the Hellcat is proof.
I'm going to bet (against myself I guess) we will see that engine.
My two friends with their 3.5's are always mashing the pedal to impress upon me that I made the wrong choice with my 5.0..
Wouldn't you love an ecoboost 5.0...You can't honesty say you would pass over a boosted 5.0 to stick with the 3.5.
Lets be honest now, most all of you bought it for it's power, not fuel economy.
Especially after the past two years have proved it's not quite the fuel sipper it promised.

Sorry, that engine isn't coming to production.
CAFE requirements, Ford is minimizing displacement to create a maximum fuel economy family of engines.
Want proof? Did Ford introduce a new EB for the F150? Yes. Was it larger displacement vs. the 3.5L? No. It was 2.7L. They have a big 6.2L right? Wrong. That's been discontinued for future trucks. The future of horsepower at Ford isn't in the V8 platforms.
