Default bed steps seized

Anyone have this happen?

Got them used recently, they have some rust on them but are from new f150. Once I installed them today, they wont budge.

The foot button moves about half inch but nothing happens even when I try to put all my weight on them. Any ideas how to free them up?

Were they ever used? When new, they have a nylon strap to lock them closed so they aren't accidentally opened.

Definitely dont have straps holding them - I bought some penetrating wd40 maybe that will free them up.

I'd use a hammer on mine when they seized up. Just tap the steps gently on the back side and they would release and be fine for a while, and then seize again. The penetrating WD40 should help.

Thank you for your reply.
Do I have to push button at same time as hitting it? Buttons seemed to jam after I pressed them a certain amount
