Default Bed Liner = Rust....

I am preparing my truck to go back to Ford by removing the items that aren't being reimbursed and noticed when I took my bed liner out that there are spots where the liner rubbed on the paint and scratched it away to almost bare metal.

Apparently the dealer that sold me the truck didn't bother to clean it out or the dirt found it's way in. If I had kept this truck this would lead to eventual rusting. I do however have an idea on how to prevent this when it goes on the new truck which I will post when I do it.

Just an FYI for those who have liners.....

Bob

Curious to see what you do. I have never seen a bed liner that did not mess up the paint. Don't want a spray liner due to $$?

$$ is the problem, yes. I will eventually get a spray in liner.

If you will spray line later then why bother w/trying to protect the bed under the liner. They will just scar it all up when they prep it. I have been wanting to spray mine ( wife) so I am a little **** about scratching it up in case I don't get it done lol

I'm not going to do anything to the bed but the liner instead....

the liners always do that, there's a guy on here who's bed cracked in some spots when he stepped in it. Sprayed a liner on and all better

Forget traditional bed liners. Take a look at bed rug or bed tred. Put one in my Wife's 2010. The bed tred has a very soft, almost carpet feel to the under side. Not to mention, a lot thicker than a spray on liner.

A full bedrug resides under my ARE LSX hard cover. Very nice, almost
SUV like appearance in bed. I have a trailer to pull for all the really
dirty stuff.

They still make plastic bed liners?? I thought those would go away now that the spray in type is available.
