Default Battery Terminal Problem, need some help.

So i went out today to my truck and it was sitting in -25 for about 4 days. Decided to pull it in the heated garage and clean the terminals, since i got the low battery warning. When I was taking the negative lead off it was a little tough, but I got it off.

After I had cleaned the terminals off and installed the negative, the bottom part of the clamp broke.I still managed to tighten it back on, but when I went to ford, they had no idea where to get the replacement part.

Anyone else here know where? Ford told me to put a different connector on, but there is not near enough slack with the management cable attached. I had to add the electrical tape cause I was worried about the cable rubbing on the battery box.

This doesn't exactly answer your question but start using sealed batteries like Optima or Odyssey. I've haven't had a corroded terminal in years.

Find a local auto-electric shop, the kind that rebuilds starters and alternators. They'll likely have the parts you need to correct this, or convert it to something better than stock.

I was thinking of going and getting a marine battery terminal, and just move the negative wire onto that. Im surprised it is so hard to find parts that small.

that bottom part of the battery terminal is probably serviced as the cable and terminal as one unit. you can always buy one of those universal type battery terminals and retrofit it. basic part number on the cable is 14300
